Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect your Google account name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in. We also receive and temporarily store the scanned image files you upload for processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your account information is used solely to authenticate you and deliver the service. Your uploaded files are processed by Google Cloud Vision to extract text, and the results are assembled into a searchable PDF and plain-text file for you to download. If you enable a premium add-on, your page images and their extracted text are additionally sent to Google Gemini, one page at a time, to be transcribed into a Markdown file. Both steps use paid-tier Google AI services, under which Google does not use your content to improve its products. We do not read, analyze, or use your file contents for any other purpose.

3. Data Retention

Uploaded files and generated outputs are automatically deleted from our servers 7 days after your job completes. Download links expire after 7 days. Account data (name, email) is retained while your account is active.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate IllumiLib:

• Google Firebase & Cloud: authentication, storage, and OCR
• Google Gemini: AI transcription of page images into Markdown, on premium add-on jobs only
• Stripe: payment processing (we never store card numbers)
• Google Gmail: transactional email delivery

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to deliver the service.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us through your Account page. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days.
